Please join us for drinks with Dr. Ofer Yizhar, Department of Neurobiology at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Dr. Yizhar’s groundbreaking research uses a technique called optogenetics – that has the potential to completely change the landscape of treatments for mental and psychiatric disorders.

About Dr. Ofer Yizhar

Dr. Yizhar uses optogenetic techniques to examine the prefrontal cortex — a region of the brain responsible for many higher order processes including memory, emotional regulation, behavioural control and social behaviour. Problems in prefrontal function are associated with various psychiatric disorders including depression, schizophrenia, autism and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Read more.
