We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive dinner with Prof. Alon Chen, President of the Weizmann Institute of Science and a world-leading neuroscientist whose research has transformed our understanding of how the brain responds to stress, on Thursday, October 29, in Toronto. We will also be joined by special guest Nadav Zysblat, the new Consul-General of Israel in Toronto and Western Canada.
Prof. Chen will share the story behind Ogen, a national trauma-prevention and early-intervention program to support children and youth in Israel affected by trauma. Drawing on decades of research into how the brain responds to stress, Ogen brings science-based approaches into schools to help young people develop tools for coping and resilience, and to identify children in need of swift clinical intervention.
The evening will offer a chance to hear directly from Prof. Chen about the science behind Ogen, his research into the brain’s response to stress, and how scientific discovery can be translated into meaningful action for children and families.
We will recognize the leadership support of the Dr. Joseph Lebovic and Dr. Wolf Lebovic Foundations through the generosity of Harry Lebovic; and the Larry and Judy Tanenbaum Family Foundation. Their transformative commitment is helping to advance Ogen and extend its reach to children and teens at a time of profound need.
Dress code is business casual. An elegant Kosher dinner and beverages will be served.
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience and before October 15, as seating for this intimate dinner is limited.
We hope you will join us for an evening that brings together remarkable science, meaningful impact, and the people helping make both possible.
