Celebrating Philanthropy

Celebrating Philanthropy, an elegant evening of celebration and recognition in honour of supporters, will take place at The Windsor Arms in Toronto. The event will feature Weizmann Prof. Yaron Lipman from the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Department discussing his leading-edge research on machine learning and image extrapolation. Some of Prof. Lipman’s recent publications include the development of new technology that can allow computers to not only capture images but also analyze them, manipulate them and construct fragments into a coherent image. Direct implications of this research can be seen in the realm of analytical image recognition tools and content analysis of images that previously could not be done by a computer. However, the applications of this research are boundless - from computer graphics, computer vision, to biology and medical imaging.
