DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, MAJOR GIFTS
LOCATION: Montreal
HOURS: Full time

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a bilingual Development Manager, Major Gifts to join Weizmann Canada’s (About Us) high performing team. You will be based in Montreal and will be working with our national and international team. You will be responsible for major gift fundraising ($25,000+) in Montreal and surrounding area as well as providing support for volunteers on the Montreal Chapter, Weizmann League and the Women for Science committee. This position will be responsible for raising an annual goal of $1M+ in support of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University or College degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, a CFRE is also preferred
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Energetic, self-starter with a “can-do” attitude who works well independently as well as part of a team that is geographically dispersed
  • Possess strong listening, speaking, and writing skills, and be a proactive communicator
  • Proven ability in developing and implementing successful strategies for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gift donors ($25,000+)
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Montreal’s philanthropic community
  • Appreciation for the value of science and its contributions for the benefit of humanity
  • Proven ability to engage, support and provide leadership to volunteers in major gift fundraising
  • Organize and maintain detailed donor records and track prospect management in RENXT. Therefore, proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, as well as Raiser’s Edge and/or other relational database
  • Ability to increase awareness of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Montreal and surrounding area, while helping to build a broader donor base and increase the frequency of major gifts
  • The candidate will be expected to be available for some evening meetings and events.  A valid passport is also required
